The Ford GT40 winner at Le Mans in 1967 back at the scene of its triumph

During the group photo organized on the pit straight between the road version of the Ford GT, the authentic winner at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans (Ford GT40 Mk.IV) and the #67 Ford GT participating in the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, one of the latter's drivers, Harry Tincknell, discussed that great moment in history.

The highlight of the photo is the presence of the Ford GT40 Mk.IV, winner in 1967 with Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt. British driver Harry Tincknell (25 years old) could barely contain his excitement: "The last time we saw this car on the track at Le Mans was in 1967 for the win. Now it's back, never restored and in the same condition as when it finished the race. It's just incredible. That's history with a capital H.".

Harry Tincknell's interest in the history of his employer, Ford, is nothing if not enthusiastic! "Ford won the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1966 to 1969, it was a fantastic era. Even though everyone knows this amazing story, four victories in a row is still an impressive feat. It was so hard to do, but they did it. I am now an official Ford driver and to play even a small role in this great history is wonderful, it's like a dream. We're back this year, 50 years later. In 1967, it was their second consecutive win. That is what we're trying to repeat this year after Ford's victory in LMGTE Pro last year. Sure, things have changed since 1967, it's not the same time, but what an achievement!"

The wink to Ford's win in 1967 via the the number 67 on his car is quite appreciated by Harry Tincknell: "This year, I'm driving the #67 Ford GT, the nod to history is so great. Last year we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Ford's first win at Le Mans. This year, we're driving the #67 in honor of that second victory. It's our turn to celebrate the anniversary. It will be our second participation and we are even better organizationally, the car is even more developed. This is my second year in LMGTE Pro, I have a lot of confidence in the car. I know we can win, of course there's a bit of pressure, but it's incredible to be a part of this history. I hope to have my name on the trophy!"
