Location of the pits at the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans

As of last year and the construction of four new pits, the number of competitors at the 24 Hours of Le Mans has increased to 60. With Toyota in the first three garages, and Algarve Pro Racing in the last one, pit lane seems endless!

Some teams consider the location of the pits to be strategically significant and therefore leave nothing to chance, others prefer to keep their habits. Though Toyota's placement, at the entrance, used to allow the competitor to know immediately if its rivals were stopping to refuel, modern methods of communication have considerably reduced that advantage.

The Japanese manufacturer has decided to retain its placement, as has the Porsche LMP1 team near the very middle of pit lane. One would have thought the Porsche GT team would choose the neighboring pits, instead Porsche LMP Team will be flanked by AF Corse's two Ferrari LMGTE Pros, with the competitors in the class relatively near one another, and by Panis-Barthez Compétition's Ligier LMP2.

The competitors will set up in pit lane before Test Day on June 4th for the 85th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 17th and 18th.
