The 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans press conference will be held on Thursday 2 February. In the meantime, let’s look back at the winners in the LM GTE Pro class since the World Endurance Championship was introduced in 2012.

Since 2012, three of the biggest European manufacturers of high-performance sports cars have battled each other in the LM GTE Pro class in the World Endurance Championship (WEC): Ferrari, Aston Martin and Porsche. Joined every year at the 24 Hours of Le Mans by Corvette, they also took on Ford, entered full-time in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2016.

- Ferrari has won at the 24 Hours twice (2012 and 2014), Porsche, Corvette and Ford each once, in 2013, 2015 and 2016 respectively. Winner in LM GTE Am in 2014, Aston Martin is still chasing its first Le Mans victory in the LM GTE Pro class since the inception of the World Endurnance Championship (WEC) in 2012.

- Since 2012, the manufacturer who has claimed the most podiums finishes in the LM GTE Pro class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is Ferrari (six), ahead of Porsche (three). Aston Martin, Corvette and Ford each have two podium finishes.

- In 2012 and 2014, Ferrari won both at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LM GTE Pro and the FIA World GT Manufacturers Cup in the World Endurance Championship (WEC), which the Italian marque won also in 2013 and 2016.

- The first winner in LM GTE Pro the year the class was created in 2011 (one year before the birth of the World Endurance Championship), Corvette Racing won once again in 2015.

- One half century after the first of its four consecutive victories, Ford won in 2016 for its return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans by claiming the top step on the LM GTE Pro podium. Three Ford GTs figured in the top 5 of the class (first, third and fourth). Two other wins followed, at Fuji and Shanghai, the two Asian rounds of the 2016 World Endurance Championship (WEC).
