Corvette Racing's quartet to remain the same in 2017

If Corvette Racing receives two invitations to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LM GTE Pro class in 2017, the American manufacturer will trust the same quartet in the American championship, and the third drivers will be announced at a later date.

Chevrolet Corvette won it all in 2016…with the exception of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, pretty much the reverse of the 2015 season! Last year, the American manufacturer won the GTLM class at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and 12 Hours of Sebring prior to clinching the win at Le Mans against a lot of opposition, but then let the championship trophy go to its rival Porsche.

There was no repeat of the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans this year despite the presence of two cars on the starting line, unlike at the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans when Corvette Racing lost a C7.R during the free practice after a violent incident for Jan Magnussen whose car broke down.

On the other hand, it was total success overseas with every title up for grabs - Drivers, Team and Manufacturer - and as the cherry on top, a heady duel in the last laps of the Rolex 24 at Daytona between Oliver Gavin, the winner with a lead of less than a second, and Antonio Garcia.

The two men will go head-to-head again next year given the duos Jan Magnussen/Antonio Garcia and Oliver Gavin/Tommy Milner have been retained for 2017, including Le Mans if Corvette Racing receives two invitations (in 2016, Corvette Racing was granted an automatic invitation for its victory in the LM GTE Pro class in 2015).
