Clearwater Racing (Ferrari) in the 2017 FIA WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans

After its first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2016, the Clearwater Racing team will once again represent Singapore at Le Mans in June, but this time with two Ferraris, one of which will compete in the full World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In 2016, the Clearwater Racing team earned an automatic invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after winning the GT class with a McLaren 650S GT3 in the 2015/2016 season of the Asian Le Mans Series (fourth in 2016/2017 with a Ferrari 488 GT3). After a more encouraging fourth place finish in the LM GTE Am class for the Ferrari 458 Italia driven by Rob Bell, Keita Sawa and team owner Weng Sun Mok, the latter decided to enter the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC).

Though the outfit from Singapore stayed with Ferrari, it traded in the venerable 458 Italia for the 488 GTE, eligible for the LM GTE Am class this year since it is more than one year old. It isn't just any Ferrari 488 GTE though: Weng Sun Mok, Keita Sawa and Matt Griffin will share the car used by Gianmaria Bruni (now an official Porsche driver) and James Calado in the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) and along with Alessandro Pier Guidi at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (retirement).

AF Corse's #51 car helped Ferrari win the FIA Endurance GT Manufacturers Cup, now called the World Endurance Champion GTE Manufacturers title.

Like last year, a dragon adorns the flanks of the Ferrari with the same yellow and orange colors dear to the team led by Arj Kulasegaram. They were recently at the Vallelunga circuit in Italy to prep for the season which will kick off with the Prologue, the official testing sessions of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) at Monza, Italy on April 1st and 2nd.
