A Chinese-inspired livery for Jackie Chan DC Racing's two Oreca LM P2s

During a press conference in Beijing, the Jackie Chan DC Racing team unveiled the stunning Chinese livery designed for its two Oreca 07-Gibsons set to compete in the full 2017 World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) season and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LM P2 class.

At the beginning of the March, the Jackie Chan DC Racing team revealed its two driver line-ups participating in the new endurance season kicking off April 16th at the 6 Hours of Silverstone in the U.K., but the two trios had not yet seen the livery of their respective cars.

Driver and team co-owner David Cheng, Alex Brundle and Tristan Gommendy will take the wheel of the #37, and Oliver Jarvis, Ho-Pin Tung and Thomas Laurent the #38, and first laid eyes on their Oreca 07s at the press conference.

The design was born out of a contest among students at the Wuhan University Insititute of Design and Sciences. Clowds represent luck and hope, while the colors pay tribute to the Chinese culture: red for luck, black for strength and youth, and gold for heroism.

David Cheng: "I am thrilled the cars have the unique and traditional look of the Chinese culture in the World Endurance Championship, they give it an Asian touch. Fans who see the car at night will also get a little surprise. This year, we are celebrating the 45th anniversary of relations between China and the U.K. and, by coincidence, our partner in the car development, Jota Sport, is British. We wanted a livery that represented this relationship between the East and the West, and I think we succeeded."

Indeed, one thing is certain: the two Oreca 07s won't go unnoticed! The two prototypes and their driver line-ups will head to Monza, Italy next week for the Prologue, the official testing sessions of the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC), prior to (in order) taking part in the rounds at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps, as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
