The#68 Ford GT by Ford Chip Ganassi Racing driven by Joey Hand, Dirk Müller and Sébastien Bourdais won the hotly disputed LM GTE Pro. A word from the drivers.
Dirk Müller: “It’s hard to believe that we’ve managed to win again fifty years on. The last few laps were very emotional.”
Joey Hand: “Thousands of people helped get this car ready for the track and prepared for the race. The first time I drove it was at Petit Le Mans. Seven months later we win LM GTE Pro at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s a long sprint and we had to keep pressing all the time. We got what we wanted.”
Sébastien Bourdais: “Today is a historic day. The race was incredible. We had to fight all the way. It was probably one of the best tussles this class has ever seen. To have history repeat itself is just unbelievable.”
