The day after the 4 Hours of Sepang, the finale round of the Asian Le Mans Series, the championship awarded the 2017/2018 season winners with their trophies.
In addition to the undisputed and indisputable LMP2 and LMP3 champions, with four wins in four races in the top class, the Jackie Chan DC Racing x Jota Sport team was awarded the Team of the Year trophy, accepted by David Cheng, the DC in DC Racing.
One of the Chinese outfit's drivers, Harrison Newey - son of famous Formula 1 designer Adrian Newey, currently with Red Bull - earned the Rookie of the Year trophy, and the Man of the Year award went to none other than Ron Reichert, team manager of TianShi Racing Team (TSRT).
The LMP2 Bronze Cup, given to an amateur driver line-up, was awarded to the tandem composed of Ate De Jong and Dean Koutsoumidis (Algarve Pro Racing) and the GT Am trophy was given toMassimiliano Wiser and Weian Chen (Audi Sport Customer Racing Asia by TSRT).
With the 2017/2018 season now over, the next race in the Asian Le Mans Series is scheduled for November 23rd through the 25th in Shanghai for the opening round of the 2018/2019 season.
