2019 European Le Mans Series: the grid unveiled

The grid for the 2019 European le Mans Series has been unveiled and features 41 cars across three classes. For the first time in the Series’ history, the ACO received more applications than places available so a selection process was required to allocate teams to the slots on the 2019 grid.
There will be 32 Le Mans prototypes (LMP) – 18 LMP2s and 14 LMP3s – alongside 9 LMGTEs, the largest GTE line-up since 2014.

Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest: “At the ACO, we are extremely satisfied to see how attractive the European Le Mans Series has become. It really plays its role in our Endurance pyramid to the full. The quality of the line-up reflects the status that the championship has acquired.”
Gérard Neveu, CEO of the European Le Mans Series: “The European Le Mans Series continues to attract the best teams in Europe, confirming its position as one of the world’s leading continental championships.
Given the very high level in LMP2, this time we will invite not only the champion but also the runner-up to compete in the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans. That, plus the auto entries awarded to the LMP3 champion and the best two LMGTE teams, means that the European Le Mans Series will have five guaranteed entries for next year’s 24 Hours in La Sarthe."
