WEC - Where to watch the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the second round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC), is generally seen as a dress rehearsal for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This year is no exception but if you are unable to make it over to Belgium, there are a number of ways of keeping up with the track action.

Two European networks will be showing part of the race live on TV: Eurosport 1 (or Eurosport 2 in the UK) will broadcast live from Spa between 7pm* and 8.45pm, and Motors TV will show the first two hours and the final hour of the race.

French viewers will get to see the first half hour and the last hour on Equipe 21 and, because it is the home race, Belgian national channel RTBF will be showing the first and last hour of the race. Meanwhile, Austrian viewers will be treated to the full six hours live on ORF. Outside of Europe, the entire race will also be broadcast live in Australia and Japan.

Likewise, race fans in North and South America will be able see the full 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on Fox Sports: Fox Sports 1 for the first half-hour, then Fox Sports 2 for the rest of the race in North America and the Caribbean, and Fox International for South America.

In certain countries, you will able to watch on a computer screen, as long as you subscribe to the Eurosport networks via Eurosport Player, LeTV (in China) or Fox Sports via Fox Sports Go.

Don’t have a TV or computer? If you have a tablet or smartphone, you can use the World Endurance Championship (WEC) second screen app. It can be downloaded for free on any smartphone or tablet running under an Android or Apple OS, but you will need to pay for a package – available as an in-app purchase per race (£3.99) or for the full season (£18.99 or £25.99 including the 24 Hours of Le Mans) – to watch the races as seen from the inside and enjoy exclusive content.

The app is available in several languages: Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Chinese and Spanish. It does not work on a computer but you can watch races on the official www.fiawec.com website, or you can use AppleTV to follow on a TV screen via an iPhone or iPad.

The Championship is also very active on social media during races, so head over to Twitter and the special live account (@FIAWEC_Live), or Facebook.
Last but not least, radiolemans.com will be providing high-quality commentary throughout the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The race starts at 2.30pm on Saturday 7 May.
