This year, Duqueine Engineering took its first start in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the wake of an impressive 2018 European Le Mans Series season. The French team qualified in 21st position with a time of 3:28.195 clocked by Nicolas Jamin during the third session. Early in the race, the #30 ORECA 07-Gibson had a flat tyre that cost it two laps and later suffered a broken rod. Gilles Duqueine's team finished 12th overall and seventh in the LMP2 class. It also won the award for best technical support given by the Ecole Supérieure du Commerce des Réseaux de l’Automobile (ESCRA). "We had a great race overall, flawless I think. But this race was a bit like the Russian mountains, a flat tyre in the beginning and a broken mechanical part at the end. The rest was perfect. In any case, bravo to the team for this first participation, there was no strategic error, or with regard to the mechanics, or in terms of how the drivers got along," said Romain Dumas.
