Cetilar Villorba Corse had a good year 2017 thanks to its presence in the European Le Mans Series and first participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans! The Italian team fielded a Dallara JS P217-Gibson in the LMP2 class.
After having been a part of the LMP3 grid in the European Le Mans Series in 2016, Cetilar Villorba Corse moved up a notch this year, still in the ELMS, but in the LMP2 class with a Dallara JS P217-Gibson. At the end of a promising season, the Italian outfit finished ninth in the overall Teams standings (with two fifth place finishes at Monza and Portimão) and earned the European Le Mans Series Team of the Year award.
The cherry on top, particularly for team principal Raimondo Amadio who had long dreamed of taking part, was being selected to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Still with the Dallara JS P217-Gibson, the team performed well, Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi finishing seventh in the LMP2 class, ninth overall. This film gives you a wonderful glimpse into the team's adventure at Le Mans this year.
In 2018, Cetilar Villorba Corse will pursue its involvement in the European Le Mans Series with the same car, and will also participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, subject to approval by the Selection Committee of course.
Commentary in Italian but subtitled in English. Not surprising given we're talking about a 100% Italian team (chassis, drivers and members)!
