KZ world championship at Le Mans: karting's elite will be there

The CIK-FIA KZ World Championship will make a stop September 12th and 13th at the Circuit International de Karting at Le Mans. It is simply the top karting competition in the world at the favourite playing field of leaders in the discipline: professional drivers and factory teams will go head-to-head for the main title of the international season.

Karts in the KZ class are powered by 125cc 2-stroke engines with 6-speed gearboxes. Delivering more than 50 cv for a weight of 175 kg, the KZs possess a weight/power ratio around 3.5 kg/cv worthy of the best series GTs, all this to say these machines are powerful! With their great width, a center of gravity almost on the ground and extra-large tyres from Bridgestone, the KZ karts are capable of faster overtaking in turns than some race cars, in addition to their unmatched vivacity.

The drivers entered in the KZ World Championship are the elite of the discipline: more than 30 European and world title-holders will come together at Le Mans. Among the big names in Karting currently, French drivers Anthony Abbasse and Jérémy Iglesias, equipped with Sodi made in France chassis will go up against top experts like Italian drivers Marco Ardigo, Flavio Camponeschi, Paolo De Conto and Davide Forè, Belgian drivers Jonathan Thonon and Rick Dreezen, British drivers Ben Hanley and Jordon Lennox-Lamb, and Dutch drivers Bas Lammers and Jorrit Pex.

A special event watched by the world over, the 2015 Mondial KZ also draws many thrill-seeking spectators at the “Le Mans Karting International“ circuit. Tickets and reservations are available at http://ticket.lemans.org/
