Follow the 2016 Le Mans 24 Hours on television!

The Le Mans 24-Hours race is one of those sporting events broadcast all over the world thanks to widespread television coverage. This year the race will be shown in 190 countries giving a potential audience of 802 millions TV viewers. In 2015, the TV coverage of the Le Mans 24 Hours reached 100 million viewers and the race achieved the highest audience in France, and in several other countries, for a motor sport event (2015 Eurodata figures measured in more than 30 markets).

 

The installation of the TV Compound has been going on for a week. This huge village consists of outside broadcast units, commentators’ cabins, etc. from TV stations from all over the world.

Almost 1 200 people work there, namely : all those whose job it is to capture all the images from the Le Mans 24 Hours, broadcast the race, as well as all the teams of reporters, commentators, consultants...

Out of these 1 200 people, 482 work for the ACO to produce the live TV images for the 24H Le Mans application, the official films, the exclusive video content of myACO and the social networks.

This year, 28 different channels will air the Le Mans 24 Hours either live or by delayed transmission. The blue-riband event of the FIA World Endurance Championship will be shown on TV screens in 190 different countries, giving a potential viewing audience of 802 million people the opportunity to experience the thrills of the Le Mans 24 Hours. In addition, numerous production companies and teams of reporters are also present to make videos and documentaries on the race, without forgetting the crews from the teams entered for the race who produce even more images to spread the fame of the Le Mans 24 Hours.
