#7 YART Yamaha claims pole position - 2018 24 Heures Motos!

At the 24 Hours of Le Mans Motos, grid position is determined by the average of the best lap times of the team’s three riders. After yesterday’s second qualifying session, the #11 Team SRC Kawasaki topped the tables, with the #7 YART Yamaha second.

Yesterday evening, YART Yamaha reserve driver Max Neukirchner was called in to replace Takuya Fujita. Neukirchner had banked a best lap time of 1:37.057 compared to Fujita’s 1:37.986.

FIMEWC rules state that “teams changing their composition after publication of the provisional starting grid will have their position recalculated on the final grid, according to the riders’ time”.

With an average of 1:36.791 compared to 1:36.946 for the Kawasaki, the Yamaha therefore claims pole position.
