24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual – Reactions from GTE winners Nick Tandy and Joshua Rogers

Nick Tandy, 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans winner (Porsche) and GTE winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual with Porsche Esports Team: "The emotion is the same as any other race I've gone through I think, because the build-up, anticipation and amount of work that goes into it...the amount of people who are relying on this one car, or these four cars in this instance, it builds that tension and that excitement. When it means so much to not just you but a lot of other people, including a manufacturer like Porsche, the emotion is undescribable. The emotion of pulling off something like this against the competition we had is mega. Congratulations and well-done to everyone involved."

Joshua Rogers, pole-sitter and GTE winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual with Porsche Esports Team: "The result shows how much we've put into this. The competition was insanely strong. I think it's without a doubt one of the strongest grids in a sim race ever. We had not a scratch on the car, no major mistakes, no penalties, which I think is ultimately how an endurance race is won. We approached the race with the right mindset, we made sure we bought our ticket to the last few hours with the right strategy and reacting quickly to things like red flags. All the hard work was worth it for sure."

Ayhancan Güven: “That was pretty nerve-wracking in the final hours, I hardly dared to look, but it all went well. Victory feels great, especially since we’ve had some extremely exhausting weeks of preparation. The perfect teamwork paid off, and we deserve this win. We were definitely the fastest GTE vehicle in the field throughout the race. My first win at Le Mans is a virtual one – hopefully, I’ll be able to compete in the real race one day.”

Tommy Østgaard: “This was an incredible race, everything ran perfectly for our car from start to finish. We were unlucky with the two red flags, but we’d prepared for every situation and stayed cool. Everyone at Porsche and Coanda made an incredible effort to ensure we could pull it off in the end. We were the quickest car and we made no mistakes. Once again, Porsche is writing Motorsport history, and I couldn’t be more proud to be part of it.”
