Le Mans Driver, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest’s motorcar and motorcycle driving school open to private individuals, companies and groups is innovating this year, first of all by setting up a new Internet Web site: www.lemansdriver.fr This Web site provides all the relevant information to enable you to take advantage of driving courses in the highly prestigious setting of the Le Mans 24-Hours circuit.

In addition to courses open to everybody in single-seater F2000 Renault, track baptisms, the motorcycle training school and anti-aggression and protection courses (reserved for public service chauffeurs and private or public companies) three major innovations are on the Le Mans Driver programme for this year.

- GT Driving School: Welcome to the dream world of the supercar as the trainees will be able to drive exceptional cars on the Bugatti circuit from April onwards. The most difficult thing will be choosing between models like the Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari F430 F1, 612 Scaglietti, 599 Fiorano and Enzo, Ford GT, Lamborghini Gallardo and Murcielago or Porsche.

- Courses in one’s personal car or in Historic Competition Vehicles (VHC): From the end of August 2007 the track will be open to all those who want to develop their driving technique at the wheel of their own sports car, or in a VHC, provided that the vehicle meets the criteria of acceptability.

- Volant ACO: Over the past 30 years the Volant ACO has firmly established itself as the yardstick for discovering budding talent, and it has now made things even easier for candidates by modifying its calendar. Instead of three sessions between July and November there will be only one in 2007 - from 9th to 15th July. Thus, the participants taking part in the Volant ACO will have only a single trip to Le Mans when the weather should be very favourable for single-seater driving. The winner in July will be able to join the Sports Study (Pole Espoir) of the Auto Sport Academy (ex Filière FFSA) in the Le Mans Technoparc.
And then? The sky’s the limit as witnessed by the careers of Sébastien Bourdais, Simon Pagenaud and Romain Dumas all former Volant ACO pupils.
