SPORTS CALENDAR PROJECT: 2007 already in pre-grid !
Monday 18 September 2006 - 10h14
After the summer break, the Bugatti Circuit is going through a hectic period with the World Series by Renault (30 September and 1 October), the DTM (14 and 15 October) and the "24 Heures Camions"(trucks) (28 and 29 October). However, these events will not make us lose sight of those to come.

2007 is just around the corner !

The Automobile Club de l'Ouest and its sports associations are now in a position to announce the provisional dates (*) of the first half of 2007.

Major events to jot down on all calendars and diaries:

- 25 March: French “Open de Vitesse” Motorcycle Championship
- 21 & 22 April: "24 Heures Moto" – 30th edition, Endurance World Championship
- 20 May: Grand Prix de France Moto
- 3 June: "24 Heures du Mans" Test Day
- 16 & 17 June: "24 Heures du Mans" – 75th edition

2007 will, of course, see the renewal of the "Le Mans" series, with five European rounds planned in the Le Mans Series and ten rounds on the calendar of the American Le Mans Series.

55 pits in 2007

Finally, between the end of the 2006 season and Spring 2007, major improvements will be carried out on the Le Mans Circuit, the most visible of which will be:

- The dismantling of the four modular pits which will leave space for nine extra refuelling pits. This will enable the traditional number of 55 cars to line up on the starting grid of the "24 Heures du Mans" (50 cars before);

- The extension and the improvement of the competitors’ Paddock (delivery date planned for the beginning of March);

- The modification of the Tertre-Rouge Curve (extension of the gravel trap). This work is scheduled to start on 18 October;

- The construction of the Welcome Center, in the Village, which should be finished by the end of May;
