This category is aimed in priority at private teams.
The cost of a new car (engine not included) must not exceed 345 000 euros (see below for engine prices).
Each line-up must include a gentleman driver who meets the criteria of the driver categorization system already in force.
To avoid forcing the teams to invest in a new car in 2011, the 2010 LM P2s (without cost caps) are allowed to race in 2011. The ACO will make adjustments to ensure that they are not quicker than the 2011 cars.
Blue numbers and diodes on the flanks. Drivers: a crew (two or three drivers) must contain at least one driver from the silver or bronze category.

LM P2 engines must have a production run of at least 1000 examples in 12 months and come from either a GT or a large-scale series production car. Their power output must not exceed 450 bhp while staying within the following cost range: max. sales price: 75 000 euros, revision costs, 35 000 euros (30 hours use between two revisions); Rent: 1650 euros per hour of use.
Fuel: the ACO will supply only one type of fuel for the petrol and diesel engines. They must be on sale: petrol with 9% ethanol minimum (10% max) – Diesel with a sulphur content of 10 mg.kg maximum.
