Better access for handicapped people thanks to the ADAPT

Since 2010, the ACO and the ADAPT (Association for the social and professional integration of handicapped people) is taking action to facilitate the access to the circuit and its infrastructures for people suffering from reduced mobility. A team will welcome handicapped people at the north entrance (under a big, visible banner for this purpose) to inform and help them to go to the grandstands and the specially converted areas and how to move around inside the circuit.

The scouts will join this service, which will be provided on Saturday and Sunday.

For the comfort of the spectators (on presentation of a general enclosure ticket to the Le Mans 24 Hours) 11 free shuttle lines will circulate to link the strategic points of the circuit (see map).

The shuttle service has been reinforced to enhance spectators’ comfort.

The shuttles will provide a round-trip service between different points. At the terminus all passengers must leave the shuttles to ensure better circulation for people.

A new line will be put in place between the Raineries car park and the Annex entry to facilitate access to the circuit.

The ACO decided to implement new programmes, and to personalise the welcome with this new application, while making it easier to obtain information and give the keys guaranteeing the discovery of the event in better conditions to the ever-increasing number of visitors.

Thanks to 24 ON SITE, an application available free of charge on 12th June in AppStore and on Google Play, you can:

  • Discover the race, the jobs that go with it, its regulations, its history and the key points at the circuit.
  • Get your bearings thanks to an interactive map indicating restaurants, car parks, grandstands, first aid posts, giant screens, shuttle stops, pedestrian access and boutiques. Discover all the not-to-be-missed mythic strategic spots at the circuit (Les Hunaudières straight, the Mulsanne corner, the Dunlop curve, etc.).
  • Take advantage of a rich programme thanks to the packed schedule of events: concerts, zones for kids, Women’s Pavilion, Virtual Room, karts, simulators, exhibitions, the fun fair, etc.
  • Plan your journey using practical information: how to reach the circuit, buy a ticket at the last minute, find lodgings, and choose your arrival time.
  • Follow the event with the official media: internet site, social networks, application 24H Le Mans and see what’s happening in the race live. Receive all the results as well as all the latest sports news linked to the Le Mans 24 Hours.

In partnership with EA Sports 13 giant screens are installed around the circuit and show continuous race images.

1 screen in Tertre Rouge, 1 at the Dunlop Footbridge, 1 at La Chappelle, 4 screens on the pits straight (from the ‘raccordement’ to the Club des Loges), 2 in the Village, 1 in Ford turn, 1 on the Maison Blanche track, 1 at Arnage and 1 at Mulsanne.

Because of the state of emergency on the whole French territory the ACO has reinforced its safety measures for spectators during the event.

Tougher safety measures for checking people and vehicles will be in place at accesses to the circuit and welcome zones.

So be prepared for the fact that it may take longer to access the circuit.

  • With the exception of the Virages Mulsanne – Arnage tickets, they all give access to the Village at the circuit.
  • Access to the autograph sessions for enclosure ticket holders.
  • Access to the concerts (Dunlop footbridge zone) for enclosure ticket holders.
  • Camping is strictly forbidden in the car parks.
  • Car parks outside the circuit are free for the practice evenings on Wednesday and Thursday 15th – 16th June.
