Passion Share #2 - When racing drivers meet fighter pilots

The first Le Mans Passion Share event featuring renowned yachtsmen was a great success. This time out, the 24 Hours of Le Mans drivers will be meeting up with fighter pilots! Following a day on the Bugatti circuit, the participants will take the controls of a French Air Force Alpha Jet.

They have a lot in common: fingertip control of a lightning fast machine, a constant desire to push the envelope, and the mental toughness and physique of top sportsmen. And yet they express their talents in totally different environments.

For racing drivers, their playground is the racetrack – in this case, the legendary Bugatti circuit. Their plaything for the event: Pescarolo open prototypes, weighing barely 800 kg, powered by a Corvette V8 engine developing 360 horsepower.

Fighter pilots can only practice their craft in three dimensions, in the largest open space known to mankind – the sky. Their machine: Alpha Jets from the fighter aviation school at airbase 705 in Tours, aircraft reputed for their exceptional flying qualities.

The four racing drivers taking up the challenge are Vincent Capillaire, Marco Sørensen, Christophe Tinseau and Alexander Wurz. They will be sharing their own experience and discovering the world of aviation with four French Air Force instructor pilots: Major Cedric, Captains Julien and Matthieu and Officer Designate Pierrick. All eight men are among the elite of their discipline and all love a challenge. Le Mans Passion Share will give them the thrill of a lifetime out of their comfort zone. Don’t miss it!
