THE
A.C.O., CREATOR AND ORGANISER OF THE
“24 HEURES DU MANS”, WAS
FOUNDED IN 1906, BASED ON THE PASSION
OF MEN WHO SAW THE AUTOMOBILE AS A
MAJOR INVENTION THAT WOULD CHANGE
THE WORLD.
For almost a century,
the A.C.O. has worked to develop its
members’ interests:
To participate in the battle against
the dangers inherent in road travel,
To represent its members in contacts
with the public and state authorities
and to reflect their views to all
organisations concerned with the study
of the problems facing automobiles
and road traffic,
To develop the use of cars and motorcycles
by means of knowledge and training
and to provide its members the information,
services, advice, help and defence
that they may need,
To create links of solidarity and
friendship between its members and
to unite them in common action in
the defence of their joint interests
as road-users,
To organise sporting events linked
directly or indirectly to cars and
motorcycles.
IN ORDER
TO PROMOTE THE CLUB’S
MISSION STATEMENT OF DEFENDING
ROAD USERS, THE A.C.O. HAS
FOUR MAJOR PRIORITIES:
Throughout its long history, and thanks
to the generations of motorists who
have put their faith in it, the A.C.O.
has put all its energy into serving
the interests of road users. Thanks
to this, its activities and its experience
have given the club strength and legitimacy
in its role of representing road users.
It has become a constant partner in
the fight against danger on the roads.
