On December 13, Audi
unveiled its new R 10 diesel-engined prototype in Paris, first at the
Trocadero and later at the Museum of Mankind. Seven-time Le Mans-winner
Tom Kristensen drove the revolutionary R 10 between the two venues, crossing
the famous Pont d’Iena and providing a rare spectacle for the representatives
of the world’s press assembled for the announcement of the new challenge
being undertaken by the marque of the four rings and five Le Mans wins.
