Bruno Famin reconnaît que Peugeot a un peu péché par manque d'expérience Photo : Michel Jamin - ACO/Nikon | Technical director of Peugeot Sport and the 908 HDI FAP programme Mr Bruno Famin would have liked the French cars domination as showed on test day to continue on race day. There was a fair share of French domination, but it wouldn't last until the end of the race. "First of all Audi deserve to be congratulated for their superb race. They are an exceptional team. We did lead the first part of the race, before we ran into trouble, namely when weather conditions deteriorated. We encountered a few small difficulties, but the biggest problem was the clogging of the radiators and subsequent overheating of the engine. We thought we had fixed the problem but it evidently was not There are more cars on track here and the track largely covers public roads and is full of unusual debris.
Of course we lack the degree of experience that our competitors have aquired and under these circumstances that fact certainly makes a difference. We will have to build on the foundations of this experience and come back with even more strength. That is what makes me feel optimistic this evening. Even though I'm a bit disappointed because I have the impression that we only missed it by a very small margin, I keep telling myself that we probably do not yet have the experience it takes to take a victory like this one. Never mind, one thing is for sure: We are all going to take a little break now. The recent weeks have been very tough for all of us, and a little rest will do us no harm before we seriously re-engage on our ongoing 908 programme.
