Sebastien Bourdais
‘The end of the race was crazy with horrible conditions, we just tried to get home. We had a big fright with the engine half an hour before the end. I think it was designed to run for 24 hours and ten minutes. That’s why I stopped, if there was another lap I couldn’t have made it.
The oil pressure went to zero, I didn’t feel anything, it was great to finish in second place, the car only started running six months ago and to bring it home with no mistakes is great. We couldn’t catch our rivals, we couldn’t risk this. ‘
Pedro Lamy
‘Peugeot did a good job, the project started late, only one year ago the car didn’t exist. I am very pleased to be part of the team, Sebastien and Stefan did a good job and we were pleased with pole. ‘
Michel Barge
‘We had oil pressure problems at the end of the race, and we were very scared as we lost the other car one and a half hours before the end. We were very worried when the oil pressure dropped. This is the first year and it has been very positive, we must work on the reliability, we showed that we can perform and that we must now work on the reliability. 2007 remains the year for running the car in and we will be truly competitive in 2008.’
Q – What problems were there with the #7 car?
‘It was basically and engine failure and had to retire the car for good. We had set the car up for rain, we modified the set up whilst we had some mechanical problems and as the track rubbered in it got better. ‘
