The chase is now on! The highest recorded speeds so far have been 339 km/h (210.6 MPH) for both Audi and Peugeot alike. The No.7 Team Peugeot Total Peugeot 908 has just recorded a fastest lap which is only .229 sec slower than the leading No.1 Audi Sport North America Audi R10 TDI. The Peugeot has put in a series of very quick laps, some faster than those of the Audi. The gap is still large, but there is promise of an exciting final quarter to this already fantastic race.
